Although I now live in Australia, I was born and spent most of my life in Southern Africa.Having photographed since a teenager I subsequently obtained a diploma in photography (2005) and worked as a commercial photographer in Johannesburg. Today however my photography is self-directed.I am naturally drawn to large, open spaces and wildlife. I have spent many years observing wildlife and I have witnessed similar qualities between us and wild animals.I have also noticed that in our development as a species we have become disconnected from nature. We have greatly impacted their world.My intention is to create images that not only highlight the beauty of an animal but also portray the fragility of their world. I am doing this by using antique processes, capturing both digitally and on film. I print traditional silver gelatin prints as well as platinum palladium prints and carbon prints.
