OPEN TO SIGNATURE MEMBERS OF NEW ENGLAND WATERCOLOR SOCIETY
JUROR OF SELECTION AND AWARDS: We are pleased to announce that American award winning watercolor artist, and teacher, Kim Johnson Nechtman will be the juror for the 2027 Signature Members Show. Kim’s masterful use of glazes and washes, wet and dry techniques, and positive and negative space breathes life into pieces focused on the human and animal experiences. She uses unusual colors in an abstract way infusing traditional shapes with atmospheric effects. She chose watercolor for her medium for its transparency, versatility and immediacy, despite its challenging nature. Her use of splashy, lively colors convey her emotions through both light and color, a style that continues to evolve. Kim is a Signature Member of many prestigious watercolor societies, including the American Watercolor Society, the National Watercolor Society and the Transparent Watercolor Society of America. Her paintings have won numerous awards and appear in private and corporate collections worldwide.
There will be a workshop with juror Kim Johnson Nechtman on Friday, January 29 - January 31, 2027 from 9AM - 4PM. The workshop registration process, pricing, and workshop details will be available https://newenglandwatercolorsociety.org/learn-workshops.html. Space is limited for this workshop.
There will be a demo by Kim on Thursday, January 28, 2027 from 5 - 7 pm. This is a wonderful opportunity to see a master watercolor artist in action. It is open to the public and donations are encouraged.
